Lubelski Węgiel „Bogdanka” S.A. is the sole mine mining the hard coal in Lubelskie Zagłębie Węglowe (Lubelskie Coal Basin).

The mine „Bogdanka” has been located in Centralny Rejon Węglowy [Central Coal District] (CRW) situated in south – eastern -  best explored - part of Lubelskie Zagłębie Węglowe (Lubelskie Coal Basin). The Central Coal District is situated within the boundaries of Polesie Lubelskie and only its small fragment are situated on the territory of Lubelska Upland. The mine „Bogdanka” is located in Lubelskie Voivodship in the territory of Puchaczów gmina.
